FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The following bids were received:
R.A.N. Electric: $29,000.00
Ranis Electric: $35,945 00
Columbia Electric: $37,216.00
W Bradley Electric: $45,000.00
The construction budget for this project is $30,250.
DESCRIPTION: On February 7,2006, the City Council authorized Staff to solicit bids
for Contract 05-14, Freeway Underpass Artwork Lighting, Phase 2. This project provides for installation
of additional light fixtures for the bridge approaches on which artwork has been painted. There are two
locations on Amador Valley Boulevard and three locations on Dublin Boulevard.
Four bids were received. The low bidder is RAN. Electric, Inc., with a bid of $29,000.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and checked with references. Staff therefore recommends
that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract 05-14 to R.A.N. Electric, Inc.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

AWARDING CONTRACT 05-14
FREEWAY UNDERPASS ARTWORK LIGHTING, PHASE 2
TO R.A.N. ELECTRIC, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on February 21,2006, publicly open, examine, and declare
all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 05-14, Freeway Underpass Artwork Lighting, Phase 2, authorized by the City Council on
February 7, 2006, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a
description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Director of Public Works, who has recommended
that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 05-14, Freeway Underpass Artwork Lighting, Phase 2, to the lowest
responsible bidder therefor, to wit, R.AN. Electric, Inc., with a bid of Twenty Nine Thousand Dollars
($29,000), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office ofthe Director of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement.
