would 10crease the salary for members of the CIty Council 10 an amount equal to a 5% 10crease of the current $758 06 monthly compensatIOn, compounded annually for calendar years 2007 and 2008, for a total of $835 76 monthly compensatIOn The Mayor receives $100 per month more than a Councilmember ]I) ESCRlfJPTI ON Government Code SectIOn 36516(a) allows a general law City to proVide a salary 10crease to members of the City CounCil by an ord1Oance with "not to exceed amount equal to 5% or less for each calendar year from the operative date of the last adjustment of the salary 10 effect when the ord1Oance or amendment was enacted" (Government Code SectIOn 36516(c) Members of the CIty Council currently receive $758 06 per month as compensatIOn The Dubl10 City Council last adjusted salaries for the Council 10 January 2006 and was effectIve after the November 2006 electIOn The attached Ord1Oance WIll 10crease salanes for calendar years 2007 and 2008, as follows Current
