RECOMMENDATION: ~/f~dopt resolution extending time limit for 12 months
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Financial impact is unknown at this time. Additional Rule 20A
funds would be available; however, the cost of construction would
also be expected to increase.
DESCRIPTION: On October 5, 1999, the City Council adopted a resolution of
intention to form Underground Utility District 99-1, Dublin Boulevard from west of Village Parkway to
Sierra Court. This District encompasses the area that is included in the next phase of Dublin Blvd.
Widening. The ordinance establishing the District was adopted on November 16, 1999.
The resolution of intention established certain completion dates which, at the time, were reasonable for
the anticipated construction time frame for the Dublin Boulevard Widening project. The project has
incurred a number of delays, and it is now necessary to extend the dates for completion of the utility
undergrounding work. It is recommended that the dates be extended for eighteen months. The original
date for property owners to be ready for underground services was January 31,2001, and removal of
overhead utility lines was to take place by March 31, 2001. The proposed resolution changes these dates
to July 31, 2002 and September 30, 2002 respectively. There are only three overhead Cable ~:2services
to individual properties which would be affected by the change of date; the other utilities in thisi~area are
already underground.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution revising the completion dates.
