DESCRIPTION: The evidence storage area in the Police Wing of the Civic Center currently shares one of the rooftop HV AC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) units with other parts of the building, and sufficient air flow cannot be achieved for this one area without negatively affecting other areas. This project proposes to install a separate HV AC unit that would provide ventilation for the evidence area only. . A second component of this project would provide a separate evidence container to be located in the police parking lot outside the Civic Center building, specifically for the storage of confiscated drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, etc. The container would be a secure facility with its own negative air ventilation system and an impervious interior. This project is one portion of the Short-Term Office Space Needs/Civic Center Modifications Capital Improvement Project. The Zahn Group is providing design and construction management assistance. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize Staff to solicit bids. - - - -..... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -...-- COPIES TO: lðbl John Croswhite, The Zahn Group ITEM NO.
