Teen Programs - "Dub Town Jam" The City of Dublin's Youth Advisory Committee hosted the fourth annual teen concert, the "Dub Town Jam" on Friday, May 19, 2001. The event took place at Emerald Glen Park. The Dub Town Jam featured a variety of events for teens including: · Karaoke · Demonstrations by Team Revolution, a skateboard demo team · Inflatable j ousting · Grass volleyball · Basketball · Pie-eating contest Additionally, there was free food to the first 250 teens, giveaways and music provided by KMEL radio station. Staff estimates 350 teens attended the event. The City received $200 in cash donations: $100 from In/Out Burger and $100 from Quizno's. In Kind Donations Chevy' s Crown Chevrolet Dublin Police Chips and Salsa Portable BBQ Film- 8 Rolls IrdOut Burger Sam Goody Tri~Valley Herald T~shirts/Sweatshirts CD's Advertising Playground Prol~rams - After School Recreation The Afterschool Recreation Program at Frederiksen Elementary School received a gift of computers and computer equipment. The inventory of donated items is as follows: · One Macintosh Power PC with external CD-ROM · Compaq Deskpro Pentium Computer with 32 Megabytes RAM and MS Windows 95 · Two 14" Monitors · Printer Style writer II · Two mouse controllers · Four Keyboards Lynette Ferguson and her sister Lesa Casky donated these items to the After School Recreation program. Lynette's daughter attends the After School Recreation program at Frederiksen Elementary School. Lynette had extra computers and accessories she wanted to' donate and felt the City's After School Recreation Program would benefit from this donation. The computers will be located at the Frederiksen Elementary School After School Recreation site and participants have use of the computers during homework and quiet games portion of the program. Recommendation Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the City Council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council accepts the gifts and direct Staff to prepare a formal acknowledgment to the contributors. Further, it is recommended that the City Council approve the budget change (Attachment 1) form recognizing the unanticipated revenue and appropriating the expense.
