FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Budget for Improvements: $82,550.00
Low Bid $75,214.00
DESCRIPTION: At the City Council meeting on September 3, 2002, the Council
authorized Staff to advertise Contract 02-13A for bids. This project provides for the replacement of the
roof on the main building and snack bar of the Dublin Swim Center, as well as the installation of a new
skylight and additional building ventilation. The project was advertised in accordance with the City's
ordinance and five bids were received by the bid opening on September 20, 2002 at 10:00 A.M.
Attachment 1 is a summary of the bid results.
The lowest base bid was received from CBC Construction of Pleasanton. The bidder's base bid is
$65,919, which is for the roofing and skylight work. The bid includes alternate bid items for the work
related to the ceiling fan and restroom exhaust fan, which totaled $9,295. Therefore, CBC Construction's
total bid is $75,214. The amount of the total bid plus a 10% contingency is within the project budget.
Staff has reviewed the bidder's proposal and license status. Staff also checked the contractor's references
and received no negative comments. Therefore, Staff recommends awarding Contract 02-13A to CBC
Construction.
The project is expected to take 40 working days to complete. It is anticipated the project will be finished
by late November.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract 02-13A to CBC Construction in the
amount of $75,214 for the Dublin Swim Center Roof Replacement Project.

RESOLUTION NO. - 02
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 02-13A TO CBC CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, on September 3, 2002, the City Council authorized the advertising of Contract No.
02-13A for bids; and
WHEREAS, the project was advertised in accordance with state laws and the City's ordinance and
five bids were received by the bid opening on September 20, 2002, at 10:00 A.M.; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid received was $75,214 from CBC Construction; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has reviewed the bids to
determine the lowest bid Which was responsive to the requirements of the bid documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby
award Contract No. 02-13A to the lowest responsible bidder therefore, to wit, CBC Construction, in the
mount of Seventy Five Thousand Two Hundred Fourteen Dollars and no Cents ($75,214), the particulars
of which bid are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1 st day of October, 2002.
