DESCRIPTION: As approved in the 2002-2007 Capital Improvement Program,
design of the 4.8-acre Neighborhood Park in Dublin Ranch 'Area G will begin in Fiscal Year 2002-2003
and construction will be complete in Fiscal Year 2003-2004.
After a series of public workshops in Fall of 2002, the City Council adopted the Conceptual Plan for Bray
Commons on January 7, 2003. The primary park improvements include the following:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
Dog Run
Circular Walking Path
Two Age Appropriate Play Areas
Picnic Areas
Basketball Court
Grass Volleyball Court
Restrooms
Informal Grass Play Area
On June 24, 2003 the City Council authorized Staff to advertise for bids on the project. In order to ensure
that the project came within the approved budget, the design incorporated deductive alternates. If a
deductive alternate is selected it would eliminate certain park elements from the base bid. The arbor by
the picnic area, basketball court and hydro-seeding the turf areas were elements listed as deductive
alternates. As shown in the Financial Statement the base bid is within the available construction budget,
therefore it is not necessary to select any of the deductive alternates as a cost savings measure.
