Senate Bill 343 mandates supplemental materials that have been
received by the City Clerk's office that relate to an agenda item after
the agenda packets have been distributed to the City Council be
available to the public. This document is also available in the City
Clerk's office, the Dublin Library, and the City's Website.
The attached document was received in the City Clerk's office after
distribution of the April 1 ,2008 City Council meeting agenda packet.

To be more specific beyond my general comments below, I enthusiastically agree with the
"preferred vision" as indicated in the General Plan Amendment Study, pages 23-25 including
Fig. 11. .

Thanks for your time on the phone this morning, and for directing me to the General Plan
Amendment Study for the property adjacent to the Iron Horse Trail.
I am in favor of the Open Space designation. I would also be in favor of community gardens if
that could be integrated with the existing wildlife habitat.
I am opposed to any land use designation that could lead to any significant buildings or
parking lots.

Subject: PA 02-053 General Plan Amendment Study for 19-acre UPR
Dear Jeri,
We have lived @ 7228 Stagecoach Road for the past 27 years, and during that time have seen Dublin change &
grow. The above mentioned property behind our home, to us & our three boys that grew up playing, exploring &
collecting railroad mementos, is known as "the way, way back". The railroad ran through there once a week to
the Kodak plant on Alcosta & Village Parkway, with a couple of little boys being thrilled @ standing in their
backyard & being able to wave to the conductor who would not only wave back but to their delight blow the train
whistle for them. Then the train disappeared but what remained was still the way, way back. Our family as well
as other residents have been able to enjoy the peacefulness of a little piece of open space that is remaining in
this nice little town that is, in my opinion, growing TOO big. The traffic is getting to be really UGLY. I was born &
raised in San Francisco & when I got married moved here to Dublin to raise my family away from the hustle &
bustle of city life. Please don't make our city into another San Francisco or Los Angeles. Our way, way back is a
home to a number of different animals that we have had the pleasure of being able to watch, capture on film, &
even enjoy the thrill of having them visit our backyard. Please allow the pheasants, deer, wild turkey, coyotes, &
various other forms of wild life the opportunity to live in their own habitat along with us. Isn' that what having
"Open Space" and park land is all about?

Jeri -
I'm a resident of Dublin, and I live close to the 19-acre Union Pacific/Alameda
County parcels. Therefore, I'm very interested in the City's plans for this
parcel. I read the agenda statement for the City Council meeting this Tuesday.
I gather the city is considering turning the parcel into a park, which I think is a
good idea. However, I have two questions.
1. There is a petroleum pipeline running through this parcel. Is it safe to
build a park on top of this pipeline?
2. I'd like to attend the Council meeting where this plan will be discussed,
but it sounds like the meeting this Tuesday is just to present the plan. I'm
assuming that once the plan is presented to the City Council, it will be
made available for public inspection. Would I be better off waiting until
the City Council holds hearings on the plan at some point in the future?

Re: City Council Meeting on April 1, 2008; General Plan Amendment Study on Union Pacific
Right of Way
Dear Mayor Lockhart and Councihnembers:
Union Pacific Railroad ("UPRR'') is aware that City of Dublin Planning Staff will submit to you
its Staff Report and General Plan Amendment Study at the April 1, 2008 City Council Meeting
concerning UP's property both North and South of Amador Valley Blvd. UPRR has not had a
chance to review these documents at this time but is aware that the proposed General Plan
Amendment involves changing the current unspecified General Plan designation to some form of
open space/park/public facility use.
UPRR opposes any change in the General Plan designation of its property at this time and
requests that the City Council'defer any action in regard to changing the General Plan. UPRR
and the County of Alameda have been presented purchase offers for their properties that allow
partial development of a portion of the properties, but which plan also includes a significant
park/open space component. It would be prudent" to consider any General Plan amendment in
conjunction with review of the proposed development plan.
Until such time as the development plans are refined further and the developer can fonnally
present its plans to the City of Dublin, UPRR requests that no change take place to the General
Plan .
