Subject: Central Parkway Improvements Project
Hi Kate Ann, Kasie, and Tim - I see that the proposed Central Parkway Safety Improvements Project is
on the agenda for Tuesday night's meeting. Obviously, I think that this is a great project. However, I am
hoping that we can modify the scope a bit. Item #4 on page 3 of the Staff report proposes to block
pedestrian access to Dublin Blvd. between Brannigan and Tassajara and redirect folks over to Central
Parkway. This would be a burden for folks that live along Dublin Blvd. or at the Groves who need to get
to Waterford or any other Dublin Blvd. destination. Could you imagine a mother/father pushing their
baby in a stroller or a person in a wheelchair having to go all the way down Brannigan to Central
Parkway? It seems like it would make more sense to add a barricade along the northside of Dublin Blvd.
similar to the barricade that would be built on Central Parkway. We'd see folks using Dublin Blvd. even
with barriers and signs, so this could be a good opportunity to ensure that they are able to walk or
navigate their wheelchair safely.
Can you please let me know what your thoughts are when you have a moment? I also plan to speak on
this Tuesday night.
Thank You,
John M. Zukoski
