FINANCIAL IMPACT: $1,200 in monetary sponsorships and approximately $72,875 of in-kind donations were received. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council recognize the sponsors and formally accept the contributions. Submitted By Reviewed By Director of Parks and Assistant City Manager Community Services DESCRIPTION: nd splatter The 2012 event was held on Saturday, September 22 at Emerald Glen Park with an estimated attendance of approximately 15,000. The event was generously supported by local businesses and organizations that provided both monetary and in-kind sponsorships. The City received $1,200 in monetary sponsorships and an estimated $72,875 of in-kind sponsorships of goods and services to support the event. A list of the monetary and in-kind sponsors is shown on the following page. Of particular note was the event marketing partnership with the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB). Tri-Valley CVB leveraged more than $38,000 in media partnerships to regionally advertise the event. These partnerships included: a major media package with CBS for radio and on-line promotions; television exposure through Comcast; a variety of print media ITEM NO. 3.1 Page 1 of 2 splatter including the Examiner, Chronicle, and Mercury News; inclusion of in a regional advertisement in Sunset magazine; and publicizing the event on digital billboards at Oakland Airport and through miscellaneous online digital promotions with hotel and tourism partners.
