Recognition of Hexcel Corporation

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will recognize Hexcel Corporation for receiving a #GameChanger
Award from Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Present a Certificate to Hexcel Corporation to congratulate them on receiving a 2018
#GameChanger Award from Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
DESCRIPTION:
Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group, a collaborative of stakeholders advancing the
economic vitality of our region, held their third annual #GameChangers A wards event in
April 2018. Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group honored 13 innovate East Bay
organizations.
Two Dublin businesses were recognized - Hexcel Corporation and Challenge Dairy -
with Hexcel winning a #GameChangers Award for their continued co mposite product
innovations and impressive number of patents.
Hexcel is a global leader in advanced composites technology. They develop high-
performance structural materials for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, as
well as the advanced composites that create stronger and lighter skis and snowboards
in demand today by world-class competitors. A company synonymous with innovation,
Hexcel holds 1,350 patents worldwide. Hexcel’s Dublin location is the primary U.S.
center for research and technology into composite materials and employs several
scientists, engineers and technicians.
