Mayor's Appointment of Student Representative to Parks and Community
Services Commission

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Mayor is recommending the appointment of Dublin High School student, Tristan Elias, as
the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the term of
July 2012 through June 2013.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council confirm the Mayor’s appointment of Tristan Elias as the
Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the term of July
2012 through June 2013.

DESCRIPTION:
The current term of the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services
Commission will expire on June 30, 2012. During the month of April 2012, recruitment efforts
took place to encourage high school students to apply for the position for the upcoming term of
office. A total of five applications were received.
The Mayor recommends the appointment of Tristan Elias as the Student Representative to the
Parks and Community Services Commission for the term commencing in July 2012 and expiring
in June 2013.

NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH:
The position for the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission
was advertised at the local high schools, on the City’s website, and press releases were sent to
the Tri-Valley Herald, Valley Times, and CTV.
A copy of this Staff Report was sent to the Mayor’s proposed appointee.
