Soto, City Clerk/Records Manager EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The City Council will present a proclamation acknowledging the Centennial for the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council present the proclamation. Proclamation ITEM NO. 3.3 Page 1 of 1 A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA “National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics Centennial” WHEREAS, the of National Association of REALTORS® seeks to serve and protect home buyers and home sellers through the high ethical standards articulated in its Code of Ethics; and WHEREAS, the National Association of REALTORS® has declared 2013 the Centennial of the adoption of the Code of Ethics; and WHEREAS, a vibrant, professional, ethical real estate community is essential to encouraging and protecting property ownership and ensuring wise stewardship of our nation’s land and resources; and WHEREAS, the Code’s Preamble states the interests of the nation and its citizens require the highest and best use of the land and the widest distribution of land ownership as well as the creation of adequate housing, the building of functioning cities, the development of productive industries and farms, and the preservation of a healthful environment; and WHEREAS, the home buyers, home sellers and property owners have been well served for a century by the Code’s assurances of professionalism and service; and WHEREAS, all REALTOR® members of the Bay East Association of REALTORS® pledge to abide by and support the enforcement of the Code of Ethics; and WHEREAS, the Bay East Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors has determined that commemorating the Centennial of the Code of Ethics will assist in achieving these ends; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Dublin, hereby resolve that the City of Dublin does recognize and commemorate the Centennial of the adoption of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and encourages all REALTORS® to reaffirm their commitment to the honor and integrity the Code demands.
