Acceptance of Gifts to City from St. Patrick's Day Event Sponsors

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will receive a report on the numerous sponsors that provided monetary as well
as in-kind donations to support the City's 2012 St. Patrick's Day Celebration and Fun Run.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City received a total of $38,950 in monetary sponsorships for the Festival and Fun Run
events.
RECOMMENDATION:
As per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be
formally accepted by the City Council. Therefore, Staff recommends that the City Council
recognize the sponsors and formally accept the contributions.

The 2012 St. Patrick's Day Celebration was held on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18
on the grounds of the Dublin Civic Center.
Based on onsite sales for the two-day event, the estimated attendance was approximately
50,000 which is a decrease from last year's attendance of 60,000. The decrease is most likely
due to the unfavorable weather conditions over the weekend.
On Sunday, March 18, a record-high 1,840 runners braved cooler temperatures to participate in
the annual Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk. The Festival and Fun Run were generously

supported by local businesses and organizations. The City received $38,950 in monetary
sponsorships for the weekend's events. The City also received support from in-kind donations of
goods and services. A list of the monetary and in-kind sponsors is shown below.
