Recognition and Acceptance of Sponsorships for Splatter, Farmers’ Market
concert series and Picnic Flix movie series

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will receive a report on sponsorships for Splatter, Farmers’ Market Concerts
and the Picnic Flix Movie Series, and formally recognize the sponsors for these events and
present certificates of appreciation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City received $26,500 in monetary contributions from the sponsors. Additionally, a
significant amount of in-kind donations were also received.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council formally accept sponsorship donations for Splatter, the
Dublin Farmers’ Market Concerts Series and the Picnic Flix Movie Series and recognize the
sponsoring organizations.

DESCRIPTION:
Dublin’s summer 2015 special events were generously supported by the local business
community. The City Council is being asked to formally recognize sponsors for the
fourth annual Splatter food, wine and art event, as well as sponsors of the Farmers’ Market
Concert Series and the Picnic Flix Movies. Splatter, held Saturday, September 19 at Emerald
Glen Park, attracted an estimated 10,000 visitors. Cash sponsorships for the event totaled
$21,500. In addition, in-kind sponsorships from restaurants, wineries, breweries and media
sponsors were valued at approximately $20,000.

The Farmers’ Market Concert Series and Picnic Flix Movies were offered to sponsors as a
package deal. The five Farmers’ Market concerts, held the first Thursday of the month from May
through September, attracted an average of 1,200 people per concert. The three Friday evening
Picnic Flix movies attracted an average of 750 people per movie. Cash sponsorships for the two
series totaled $5,000.
