Release of Grading/Sitework Bonds for Wallis Ranch Bridges and Drainage Outfalls Prepared By.• Mark Lander, City Engineer EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Chang Su-O Lin (Jennifer Lin) has completed construction activities in Tassajara Creek for two bridges and storm drain outfalls for the Wallis Ranch development in accordance with the Improvement Agreement, Wallis Ranch Bridges, dated July, 2008 (City Council Resolution 133- 08). It is now appropriate for the City to release the Grading/Sitework Bonds provided by the contractors that were provided for the work. The City is not accepting the bridges for public use at this time as the bridges are currently isolated without connections to the City street system, and there is no schedule for further development at Wallis Ranch. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Since the City is not accepting any improvement at this time, there is no financial impact. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the resolution approving the Bridges and Drainage Outfalls. /~,.-~~,.. ~. ~~~ .- r S itted By ~ ity Engineer Release of Grading/Sitework Bonds for Wallis Ranch Assistant City`AA~anager Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. -t ,~ DESCRIPTION: Chang Su-O Lin (Jennifer Lin) and the City of Dublin entered into an Improvement Agreement, Wallis Ranch Bridges, dated July, 2008, (City Council Resolution 133-08) to construct finro bridges across Tassajara Creek and storm drain outfalls to the creek in accordance with plans on file with the City Engineer. The two bridges and storm drain outfalls have been constructed to provide private access to the Wallis Ranch development (Attachment 1). The bridges will be dedicated to the City at a later date when a public street connection is provided to the bridges from Tassajara Road and the bridges are required to provide access to an actual development within Wallis Ranch. The City is not accepting any improvements or dedications at this time. The contractors provided Grading/Sitework Bonds to insure that Tassajara Creek was stabilized and restored in an acceptable manner. Since the improvements associated with the Improvement Agreement, Wallis Ranch Bridges and the approved plans have been completed, Staff is recommending that the City Council adopt the proposed resolution releasing the bonds for the grading and sitework for the Wallis Ranch bridges (Attachment 2). . The Grading/Sitework bond issued by Developers Surety and Indemnity Company in the amount of $250,000.00 (Bond No. 722469P) for Wallis Ranch, South and North Bridges and Storm Drain OutFalls, permitted by Grading/Sitework Permit No. 08-05 dated June 2, 2008, and the Grading Permit Bond issued by Financial Pacific Insurance Company in the amount of $25,000.00 (Bond No. M901440) for the improvements associated with the Northern OutFall for Wallis Ranch (Grading/Sitework Permit No. 09-07) may now be released. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: No public noticing is required for accepting these improvements. A copy of the Staff Report will be sent to Ms. Lin's representative (Jim Tong). ATTACHMENTS: 1. The original Grading/Sitework Bond issued by Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America in the amount of $ 250,000.00 (Bond No. 722469P) for the improvements associated with the Wallis Ranch Bridges and storm drain outfalls (Grading/Sitework Permit No. 08-05) be released; and 2. The original Grading Permit Bond issued by Financial Pacific Insurance Company in the amount of $25,000.00 (Bond No. M901440) for the improvements associated with the Northern Outfall for Wallis Ranch (Grading/Sitework Permit No. 09-07) be released.
