Foss, Acting City Manager " Acceptance of Work — Contract No. 13 -08, 2013 Storm Drain System Improvements Prepared by. Steve Yee, Public Works Manager EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The City Council is being asked to accept the 2013 Storm Drain System Improvements Contract (CIP No. 960017) which provided for repair and /or replacement of storm drain pipeline at eight (8) different sites throughout the City of Dublin. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The adopted Fiscal Year 2012 -2013 total appropriations for this project were $155,000. Of this amount, $4,000 has been allocated for salary and benefits, $24,500 for contract services, $500 for miscellaneous, and $126,000 for improvements to be completed under this Contract. The total actual cost of storm drain improvements under this contract is $92,570. Funding Source Budget of Itnpr©vernents' Actual Cast 1001 -General Fund $126,000.00 $ 92,570 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council accept improvements under Contract No. 13 -08, 2013 Storm Drain System Improvements, and release retention after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims. ubmitte° By �� Reviewed By Public Works Director Acting Assistant City Manager DESCRIPTION: This Storm Drain Improvements project is a part of the Citywide Street Storm Drain Condition Assessment Project. The assessment identified, in multiple phases, sections of pipeline within Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 4.4 the city limits that are in need of repair due to cracking, leaking, or breakage. The 2013 Storm Drain System Improvements project targeted the sections of pipeline that are in the poorest condition and in the most need of repair or replacement. The Storm Drain Improvements project consisted of cutting into the existing asphalt pavement, removing the damaged section of reinforced concrete storm drain pipeline, installing the new section of pipeline, and replacing excavated material, including the restoration of concrete improvements such as curb and gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt concrete roadway. The Storm Drain System Improvements Contract repaired and /or replaced sections of pipeline on the following streets, as shown on the Location Map (Attachment 1): 1. Marwick Dr. between Bloomington Way and Marwick Ct. 2. Marwick Ct. 3. Fenwick Ct. 4. Rhoda Ave. near Southwick Dr. 5. Brittany Dr. near Seine Ct. 6. Rolling Hills Dr. near Brittany Dr. 7. Amador Valley Blvd. at Ann Arbor Way 8. Brighton PI. at Brighton Ct.
