Foss, City Manager " SUBJECT: Implementation of Parking Regulations on Davona Drive Prepared by William Lai, Public Works Technician 11 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: CITY CLERK File #570 -20 The City Council will consider implementing parking regulations along Davona Drive in front of Murray Elementary School. These parking regulations will serve to improve traffic circulation and overall traffic safety especially during school pick -up and drop -off times. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The work to install appropriate curb markings will be completed by Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) and will be of no cost to the City. The work to install new signs along Davona Drive will be completed by the City and can be absorbed in the Fiscal Year 14 -15 Signing and Striping Budget. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the Resolution amending the Dublin Traffic Code approving parking regulations along Davona Drive. u' bmitteb By Public Works Director DESCRIPTION: \ Reviewed By Assistant City Manager This summer, Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) undertook a major parking lot modification project at Murray Elementary School. This work included moving the existing driveways to enter and exit the parking lot. In conjunction with these improvements, DUSD requested the implementation of parking regulations in front of the school on Davona Drive. Staff reviewed the site and concurs with the requested implementation of parking regulations along Davona Drive. These parking regulations will serve to improve traffic circulation and overall traffic safety especially during school pick -up and drop -off times. Due to the residential character of the neighborhood, Staff recommends maintaining on street parking during non - school hours. Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 4.15 The proposed regulations include the addition of limited time passenger loading zones to aid pick -up and drop -off regulations and no parking zones to remove visual obstructions near the existing crosswalk and driveways.
