Update of Dublin City Council Norms

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will consider updates to its norms following a discussion at their
February 2, 2019 City Council meeting.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Resolution Approving the update of the Dublin City Council Norms.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
DESCRIPTION:
At the June 6, 2017 meeting, the City Council adopted a Resolution 69 -17, approving
the establishment of the Dublin City Council Norms. At their February 2, 2019 meeting,
the City Council proposed modifications to the norms, including revisions and a couple
of new items. This Resolution will approve these updates/additions.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

APPROVING THE UPDATE OF THE DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL NORMS
WHEREAS, on February 2, 2019, the City Council held a Special Meeting and
discussed the update of City Council Norms; and
WHEREAS, from that discussion, additions and changes were made to the
previously approved eight norms; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin City Council Norms serve to augment the City Council’s
Rules for the Conduct of Meetings of the City Council (Resolution No. 62-17) and any
related policy documents to provide a more specific “Code of Conduct.”
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Dublin does hereby approve the update of the Dublin City Council Norms, attached
hereto as Exhibit A to this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of March, 2019, by the
