DESCRIPTION:
Dublin Pride Week is an annual event that seeks to promote a positive image for the
City of Dublin. The primary objective for Dublin Pride Week is to seek ways to engage
individuals and groups in action-based activities to help improve the community and the
environment. At the forefront of this effort is the Dublin Pride Week Committee, made up
of Councilmembers, City staff and various community members and organizations. The
Committee will meet monthly from January to May to plan and prepare the event.
Councilmember participation is a key component to the Committee and the ultimate
success of Dublin Pride Week activities. Dublin Pride Week 2020 will begin the last
Saturday in April (April 25) and will continue through the first Saturday in May (May 2).
Traditionally, two City Councilmembers have been appointed to serve on the Dublin
Pride Week Committee. In 2019, Councilmembers Jean Josey and Shawn Kumagai
served as the City Council’s representatives. Staff requests that the City Council select
two Councilmembers to the Committee for 2020.
