3.ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
At this time, the public is permitted to address the City Council on non-agendized items.
COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law,
however, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted
agenda. The Council may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff
to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact
the City Clerk’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future City Council
agenda. The exceptions under which the City Council MAY discuss and/or take action on items
not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).

8.1Certification of November 3, 1998 Election Results
The City has received the Election results for the Offices of Mayor and two Councilmembers
from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution declaring results of November 3, 1998
General Municipal Election.
8.2Presentation of Plaques to outgoing Councilmember Barnes and Vice Mayor Burton
Councilmember Barnes was elected to the City Council in 1994 and has served one 4-year
term. Vice Mayor Burton was elected to the City Council when the City incorporated in 1982,
and served for approximately 2 years. He was again elected in 1990 and has served two 4-year
terms.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Present plaques and receive comments from outgoing
Councilmember Barnes and Vice Mayor Burton.

Invitation to adjourn to Regional Meeting Room for refreshments.
