DUBLIN PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING - OCTOBER 9, 1990 CIVIC CENTER
TUESDAY - 7:30PM COUNCIL CHAMBERS
1. CALL TO ORDER
2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
At this time, members of the audience.. are permitted to address the
Park and Recreation Commission on any item which is not on the Agenda.
Comments should not exceed 5 minutes. If any person feels that this
is not sufficient time to address their concern, that person should
arrange with the Recreaton director to have their particular concern
placed on the agenda for a future meeting.
3. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING - AUGUST 7, 1990
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve
4. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS - NONE
5. OLD BUSINESS
5.1 Student Representative to Parks . & Recreation Commission
Staff has incorporated the Commissions recommendations . of
August 7, 1990 to the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure, for the
addition of a student representative to the Commission,
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Review and Adopt the Revised Bylaws and
Rules of Procedure. ,
5.2 Alamo Creek Park Dedication
The completion date of Alamo Creek Park has been delayed until
November 16, 1990. Therefore it will be necessary to reschedule
the park dedication. The City Council will consider changing the
date at their meeting of October 8, 1990.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive Information
5. 3 Afterschool Recreation Program
The program presented to the Commission at their July 10, 1990
meeting has not been implemented due to a conflict in space at
the three schools. The schools have also expressed their concern
regarding the fee-based sports program. Staff has developed
three options for review by the Commission.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Review and Provide Input
6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Park and Recreation Facilities Master Plan
One of the components of the master plan is the creation of an
Advisory Steering Committee to provide input on community-wide
needs with regards to park and recreation facilities. It is
therefore necessary for the Commission to appoint a Commissioner
and an alternate to the Advisory Steering Committee to represent
the Parks and Recreation Commission.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one Commissioner and an Alternate
6.2 Fall Special Events
Staff has prepared a summary of those events scheduled for the
Fall quarter for review by the Commission.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive Information and Provide Input
6.3 Joint Commission Meeting, Danville-Dublin-San Ramon
The Town of Danville will host a joint meeting for the
Commissions of Danville, Dublin and San Ramon on
November 15, 1990.
