3.2 Public Comment
At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-agendized items. The Committee must,
however, comply with all State Laws in regard to items not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to
statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member•of the public may contact the Parks and Community Services Department related to the proper procedure to place an item on a
future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Youth Advisory Committee MAY discuss and/or take
action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in GC 54954.2(6)(1)(2)(3).
4. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING—April 26,2006 •

5. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
5.1 Mandatory Ethics Training
Pursuant to AB 1234, the Local Government Sunshine Bill, all local agency officials are required to receive two hours of
ethics training on a bi-annual basis. All members of the Youth Advisory Committee are mandated to attend. The
training is scheduled for Monday, October 9, 2006 from 5:30'PM to 7:30 PM at the Dublin Civic Center Council
Chambers.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive report
5.2 Alameda County Youth Leadership Academy
Staff received information from the AlamedapCounty Administrator's Office regarding a Youth Leadership
Academy. Staff will disseminate information to Committee Members and encourage their participation.

7. NEW BUSINESS
7.1 Youth Advisory Committee Orientation
Staff will review the Committee's Bylaws and other materials related to serving as a Youth Advisory Committee
Member.

7.2 , Overview of Teen Budget .
Staff will give a presentation about the operating budget for the City's teen programs.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive report
7.3 Teen Website
Staff will update the Committee on the teen website and solicit volunteers to write articles regarding teen events, book
reviews,movie reviews or other interesting stories for the website.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive report and solicit volunteers to submit articles for the website

8.1 Brief Informational Only Reports from Committee Members, Sub Committees, and/or Staff and Reports by
Commission related to Meetings Attended at City Expense(AB 1234).
