Approval of Non-Residential Affordable Housing Task Force Report Prepared by Eddie Peabody, Jr. Community Development Director None FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None Authorize the Mayor to select a Task Force from recommended candidates and appoint a member from the City Council to serve on the Task Force DESCRIPTION: At it's meeting of August 21, 2001, the City Council approved a contract with Cotton/Bridges to complete a Non-Residential Affordable Housing Study for the City of Dublin. Staff was directed to return to City Council with a list of possible participants to serve on a Non-Residential Affordable Housing Task Force to meet with staff and the consultant to provide input related to a potential Commercial Linkage Fee. The Task Force would meet several times between October, 2001, and early 2002 before the start of the public hearing process. As recommended in the August 21, 2001 staff report, the Task Force would be comprised of the following groups: one City Council member; one Planning Commission member; two representatives from the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and one or more knowledgeable commercial developers in the area. Staff recommends the following individuals be appointed to the Task Force: Fred Musser, Planning Commissioner; Brad Kaune, Home Marketing Alternative Project Services and Don Johnson, the Imprint Works, representatives of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce; Pat Cashman from the Alameda County Surplus Property Authority and Michael Parker from the Koll Corporation. In addition, the Mayor should appoint a Council member to sit on this Task Force. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council 1) authorize the Mayor to select a Non-Residential Affordable Housing Task Force from the recommended groups and 2) appoint a member from Council to serve on the Task Force.
