2.1 Public Comment
At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-
agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record.
COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no
action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The
Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to
report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may
contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on
a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee
MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in
Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for
approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience,
Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent
Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item.
3.1 Approval of the April 27, 2022 Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes
The Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the April 27, 2022 Youth Advisory
Committee Regular Meeting.

5.1 Post-Event Discussion of Youth Hackathon and Start-Up Pitch
The Committee will have a post-event discussion on the Youth Hackathon and Start-Up Pitch
Event.

Discuss event, note successes, and make recommendations on areas to improve for
future events.

5.2 Report on 2021-22 Youth Advisory Committee Activities and End-of-Term
Celebration
The Committee will receive and discuss a report on the 2021-22 Youth Advisory Committee
activities and participate in an end-of-term celebration.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive the report, provide feedback on activities that future Youth Advisory Committee
Members could incorporate into their terms, and participate in the celebration to
recognize outgoing Committee Members.

7. ADJOURNMENT

A Regular Meeting of the Dublin Youth Advisory Committee was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Dublin Senior Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by Committee Chair Logan Lin.

4.1 Report from Youth Hackathon Ad Hoc Committee The Committee received an update from the Youth Hackathon Ad Hoc Committee and discussed the event.
4.2 Post-Event Discussion of 2022 Dublin Benefit ConcertThe Committee discussed the event, noted successes, and made recommendations on areas to improve for future events.Member Senthilkumar arrived at 7:25 PM.
4.3 2021-22 Youth Advisory Committee Mini Grant Recipient PresentationsThe Committee heard presentations from mini grant recipients, including how funds were used and project impacts.
5. New Business – None. 6.Other BusinessChair Logan Lin and Vice-Chair Brandon Maskey presented the Youth Advisory Committee Annual Report at the Parks and Community Services Commission meeting on April 18, 2022. Member Advaith Krishna Anoop Krishna also attended the meeting. PCS Student Representative, Pratyush Rallapally volunteered at the Eggstravaganza and reported on Parks and Community Services Commission items.

Liz Elliott, Recreation Supervisor, complimented the Committee on their participation at the Eggstravaganza, Benefit Concert, and the presentation of the Annual Report. She also reminded them that the May 25 Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting will be the last meeting of the term, and of the Annual Report Presentation at the City Council Meeting.

The Committee will have a post-event discussion on the Youth Hackathon and Start-Up Pitch
Event.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Discuss event, note successes, and make recommendations on areas to improve for future events.

DESCRIPTION:
The first Youth Hackathon and Start-Up Pitch Event was hosted by the Youth Advisory Committee
on May 14, 2022,from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Dublin Senior Center.Sixty youths aged 11-14
in teams of two or three created mobile applications, websites,and/or 3-D model concepts and
presented their ideas to judges and the public.
The Youth Hackathon Ad Hoc Committee,consisting of four Youth Advisory Committee Members
planned the event. This included designing the participant content and handouts, soliciting judges,
preparing the program, soliciting participants,and advertising the event at Dublin high and
middle schools, through social media, at the St. Patrick’s Day event information booth, inside the
Dublin Library, on The Wave digital boards, and on the Senior Center marquee.
The Ad Hoc Committee worked with iGATE, Start-Up Tri-Valley, and local tech companies to retain
judges in the marketing, technology, start up, and business fields.

Then sign up for the Youth Hackathon and Start-Up Pitch Event!
Ages 11-14
FREE; Pre-registration required
No experience or advance preparation required
Teams of two to three participants will create mobile applications, websites, and/or 3-D models in this
competition. After brainstorming and building, each team will give a ve-minute presentation to pitch
their idea, Shark Tank-style. At the conclusion of the day, local professionals in the marketing,
technology, start up, and business elds will judge the projects and presentations and present awards.
Join with a friend, or we’ll pair you up at the event. Friends and family are invited to watch the
presentations and awards ceremony.
No experience or advance preparation is required. Mentors will be on site all day. Please bring your
own laptop.

start-up, and business elds.

participating as judges for this wonderful event for Dublin youth.

Members reflect on the ending term and provide feedback on activities for future Youth Advisory
Committee Members.
