SUPPORTING mE APPROVAL OF CREEKSIDE MEMORIAL PARK
A NEW CEMETERY AT 7000 CAMINO TASSAJARA
TO SERVE THE GREATER TRI-V ALLEY COMMUNITIES
WHEREAS, the five Tri- Valley Cities have participated in a series of meetings over the last two
years to discuss the common need for added cemetery space, regionally; and
WHEREAS, the five Tri-Valley Cities heard a presentation by Corrie Development Corporation at
the November 2004 Tri- V alley Council meeting regarding the status of their proposed new cemetery
project; and
WHEREAS, this date the Dublin City Council has heard an updated presentation generally
describing the proposed cemetery project and its community benefits; and
WHEREAS, the community benefits would include this cemetery being a planned park like facility
in a convenient location to meet the diverse cultural aspects of the burial ofloved ones, making this
cemetery part of the community infrastructure where families will be encouraged to stay in the community
near their departed loved ones; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project site is a 212.6± acre site situated in unincorporated Contra Costa
County on APN 223-020-005 and 223-020-007 located on Camino Tassajara near the common Contra
Costa County! Alameda County lines; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin City Council believes that Contra Costa County should expedite the
Conditional Land Use Permit approval process so the greater community can realize the cultural and family
benefits of this cemetery and to help satisfY the existing need for additional burial space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby
encourage and express strong support for approval of a new Creekside Memorial Park cemetery to serve
the greater good.
