On January 9, 2018, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 07-18 approving the creation of a
Military Banner Program to honor active -duty military personnel and military veterans that reside
in or have immediate family residing in the City of Dublin, or have had a long-term, positive impact
on the Dublin community. The Program allows for someone to sponsor a banner (for a fee) to
honor an active -duty member or veteran. The banners feature a photo of the honoree along with
their name, rank, and branch of service.
The program has run annually since 2018 but was suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19. In this
fourth year of the Program, 12 military personnel/veterans were honored. The banners were
located on City street light poles along Dougherty Road between Scarlett Drive and Amador Valley
Boulevard, in the vicinity of the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, between Memorial Day and
Veterans Day (May through November) 2022.
