DESCRIPTION: At the meeting of July 3, 2001 the City Council awarded the contract
for the new Dublin Heritage Center Storage Building to GE Capital Modular Space. GE Capital was to
provide a storage building for the museum artifacts that would be compatible to surrounding structures.
The company delivered a custom fabricated building to the site in September. Several additional items
such as an access ramp and exterior building finishes were completed at the site. The building has similar
architectural details and colors that match the surrounding historical structures.
During the course of installation, three items were changed to better match site conditions. They
included:
Upgrade of roof shingles to 35-year life: $ 565
Upgrade of exterior siding for better match to existing buildings: $ 985
Electrical panel relocation to minimize onsite trenching: $ 399
Total all changes: $ 1,949
These changes bring the total cost of the building to $59,469.
The City has reviewed the work on the project and has determined that the work is complete. Staff
recommends that the City Council accept the Heritage Center Storage Building improvements completed
by GE Capital Modular Space.
CONCLUSION
It is recommended that the City Council take the following action:
1. Accept improvements under Contract No. 01-07.
