Hello John,
I would like to make a public comment on Item 2 of tonight’s City of Dublin Policing & DEI taskforce
meeting. I have written my comment below.
Thank you,
Michelle Tokarski
My name is Michelle Tokarski and I have been a Dublin resident for seven years.
I support the five additional recommendations proposed by the Dublin Inclusion Project, which can be
found through the Dublin Inclusion Project’s Instagram page. I hope that the taskforce will strongly
consider adding them to the report they present to city council.
I strongly support the Dublin Inclusion Project’s call for an additional recommendation that
Dublin end their contract with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. I believe Dublin has grown to
the point that we require our own city police department and I want them to represent our
community. By removing ACSO from the equation we can employ officers that reside in our city
and are accountable to their fellow citizens. ACSO also has a history of police brutality and I do
not believe there is any space for that type of behavior in Dublin.
I do want to affirm my support for the taskforce’s existing recommendations.
Thank you for your time.
