based on requirements that had been communicated to Staff by the inspector from the Alameda County
Environmental Health Service, which is the regulatory agency for fuel tanks. Following the Council's
authorization to solicit bids, Staff forwarded the bid specification to the Environmental Health inspector for
review and was advised that additional improvements needed to be made in order to meet current
applicable codes and requirements.
The original work involved replacing or modifying existing accessways for the tanks to correct a water

would monitor both the gasoline and diesel tanks for leaks. The new device will also accommodate tank
