Subcommittee Reports
CM Rogers, Chairperson for the Youth Tutoring Subcommittee, reported that the Subcommittee received
tutoring requests from two students. CM Rogers scheduled the tutoring sessions for the students.
The Teen Special Events Subcommittee reported that the car show/ice cream social event was a success.
The Committee Members enjoyed the day viewing the wonderful cars as well as selling ice cream during
the event. The Committee raised $85.00 for the Youth Fee Assistance Program from the ice cream sales.
The Subcommittee is also working with Staff on the planning of the Lock-in event scheduled for April
30th and the Teen Camp Out scheduled for May 20th & 21st.
Youth Advisory Committee Evaluation
Staff presented a year end evaluation to the Committee Members, and the Staff and the Committee
Members reviewed their answers to the evaluation questions. The evaluation questionnaire was created to
receive feedback on their experience serving on the Committee as well as areas to improve in the
administration of the Committee. Generally, the Members enjoyed their experience serving on the
Committee, but it was noted that a few areas in which Staff can improve in the administration of the
Committee included receiving information reminding the Members of up-coming meetings. Members
receive the Committee packet, but with their busy schedules, they sometimes misplace the packet or
forget the meeting dates. A suggestion would be to have Staff text each member as a reminder and, if
possible, create a Facebook page for Committee Members reminding them of not only meetings but other
important YAC activities. Another suggestion would be to schedule formal YAC meetings on the 4th
Thursday of the month, changing from the current Wednesday schedule. Committee Members stated that
Wednesdays are busy nights with sporting events and other afterschool activities.
