review at least 72 hours prior to a Youth Advisory Committee Meeting or, in the event that it is delivered to
Youth Advisory Committee members less than 72 hours prior to a Youth Advisory Committee Meeting, as soon
as it is so delivered.

2.1. Public Comment
At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-agendized items. Please step to the
podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In
accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted ag enda. The
Youth Advisory Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a
future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to
the proper procedure to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the
Youth Advisory Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in
Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Youth Advisory
Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item
removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item.
3.1. Minutes of the September 26, 2018 Regular Youth Advisory Committee Meeting
The Youth Advisory Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the
September 26, 2018 Regular meeting.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the minutes of the September 26, 2018 Regular Youth Advisory Committee
meeting.

7.1. Tree Lighting Event
The Committee members are being asked to sign up for volunteer assignments at the
annual Tree Lighting event.

Volunteer at the Tree Lighting event on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 6:15 to
9:15 p.m. to assist Staff with event set-up/clean up, serving cookies and hot
chocolate, and to escort Santa.
7.2. Tri-Valley Youth Advisory Committee Roundtable Event
The Committee will discuss attending a roundtable event with Youth Advisory
Committee Members from Danville, Pleasanton and San Ramon to discuss teen
initiatives and fundraising ideas.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Attend the Tri-Valley Youth Advisory Committee Roundtable event on Saturday,
January 26, 2019, located at the Danville Community Center, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
7.3. 2019 Dublin Benefit Concert Timeline and Work Plan
The Committee will establish the 2019 Dublin Benefit Concert timeline and work
plan. Three Committee members will be appointed to serve on a planning
subcommittee, which will include two Dublin Senior Advisory Committee members.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Establish the 2019 Dublin Benefit Concert timeline and work plan. Appoint three
members to serve on the Dublin Benefit Concert Subcommittee.
8. OTHER BUSINESS
Brief information only reports from the Committee and/or Staff, including committee reports and reports by the
Committee related to meetings attended at City expense (AB1234).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Committee members are being asked to sign up for volunteer assignments at the
annual Tree Lighting event.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Volunteer at the Tree Lighting event on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 6:15 to

DESCRIPTION:
The City’s 35th annual Tree Lighting event will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018
from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. at the Dublin Civic Center. The event will feature musical
performances, refreshments (cookies and hot chocolate), and attendees will be treated
with a special visit from Santa.
Committee members are being asked to sign-up and volunteer at the event. Staff needs
assistance with event set-up/clean up, serving cookies and hot chocolate, and to escort
Santa.

attend.
Last year, the Tri-Valley Youth Advisory Committee Roundtable event was held on
Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Danville Community Center. Youth A dvisory
Committee Members from Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, and San Ramon met from 1:00
to 4:00 p.m. to discuss current youth issues and how each City or Town operates their
Advisory Committee.

2019 Dublin Benefit Concert Timeline and Work Plan

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Committee will establish the 2019 Dublin Benefit Concert timeline and work plan.
Three Committee members will be appointed to serve on a planning subcommittee,
which will include two Dublin Senior Advisory Committee members.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Establish the 2019 Dublin Benefit Concert timeline and work plan. Appoint three
members to serve on the Dublin Benefit Concert Subcommittee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
N/A
DESCRIPTION:
The Dublin Benefit Concert has become an annual event since 2014. The concert
showcases the talents of both local youth and seniors to promote an intergenerational
event. Donations will be accepted at the concert to assist in raising funds for the City of
Dublin Senior Fee Assistance Program, which provides fee assistance to qualified
seniors who could not otherwise participate in City of Dublin recreation programs.
The duties of the Dublin Benefit Concert Subcommittee will consist of:
o Completing timeline duties
o Attending regularly scheduled meetings
o Promoting the concert
o Screening and selecting performers
o Assisting Staff at the concert
