MEETING PROCEDURE DURING CORONAVIRUS (COVID -19) OUTBREAK:
• In keeping with the guidelines provided by the State of California and Alameda County
Department of Public Health regarding gatherings during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak,
and recommendations to follow social distancing procedures, the City of Dublin will adopt the
following practices during upcoming committee meetings:
• The Dublin Youth Advisory Committee will hold the meetings remotely via Zoom Video
Communications.

• The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
• Online speaker slips will be available at www.dublin.ca.gov, and the public will be able to call in
using a computer/or smart phone via a link which will be provided following submission of a
speaker slip. A telephonic option will also be available.
• Once connected, the public speaker will be placed in an on-line waiting room. While in the waiting
room, the public speaker will hear the meeting while they are connected and waiting to speak.
• When the agenda item upon which the individual would like to comment is addressed, the speaker
will be announced in the meeting when it is his/her time to speak to the committee. The speaker
will then be moved to the meeting for comment.

2.1 Public Comment
At this time, the public is permitted to address the Committee on non-agendized items. Please
step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT
EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take
place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to
statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting
concerning the matter.
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for
approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience,
Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent
Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item.
3.1 Approval of the February 24, 2021 Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting

The Youth Advisory Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the February 24,

The Youth Advisory Committee will receive and discuss the Annual Report
Presentation for the Parks and Community Services Commission and the City Council.

7.1. Recruitment Process for the 2021-22 Youth Advisory Committee
Bridget Amaya, Assistant Director of Parks and Community Services, presented
the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff Report.
8. Other Business
Chair Goel called upon members of the Youth and Senior Advisory Subcommittee for
the April 11 Dublin Benefit Concert to provide an update to the Committee.
Committee Member Khaware updated the Committee.
Assistant Director of Parks and Community Services Bridget Amaya discussed
promoting the April 11 Dublin Benefit Concert and upcoming volunteer opportunities for
Committee Members.

SUBJECT:YAC Annual Report Presentation

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Youth Advisory Committee will receive and discuss the Annual Report Presentation for the
Parks and Community Services Commission and the City Council.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and discuss the report.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
DESCRIPTION:
Each year, Youth Advisory Committee Members present an Annual Report highlighting the Youth
Advisory Committee’s accomplishments that took place during their current term. These
accomplishments include volunteering at City events, awarding Youth Mini Grants, engaging in
fundraising efforts for the Youth Fee Assistance Program, and completing other projects that
involved the Advisory Committee.
The Youth Advisory Committee’s general activities were reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic;
however, the Committee’s 2020-21 term accomplishments include the following:
Awarded a total of six youth organizations in Dublin with a Youth Advisory Committee
Mini Grant, totaling $2,500 (Dublin High School Seniors, Dublin High School (P.A.T.C.H)
Club, Economic & Financial Literacy Club, Dublin HOSA, Gardeners of the Galaxy, and
Quarry Lane’ Environmental Club).
Assisted Staff with the City's Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Santa Drive-thru Meet
and Greet at the Civic Center on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Volunteered at the Grand Opening of the Imagine Playground at Dublin Sports Grounds
on Saturday, March 6 and the “Lucky to be in Dublin” Chalk Art Contest during the St.
Patrick’s Day Festival on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Will assist Staff with the Spring Eggstravaganza event at Emerald Glen Park to be held
on Saturday, April 11, 2021.
Will partner with the Senior Center Advisory Committee to host a Benefit Concert to be
held virtually on Sunday, April 11, 2021, with proceeds going to the Youth Fee
Assistance Program.
The Annual Report will be presented by Chair Goel and Vice Chair Imran at the April 19, 2021
Parks and Community Services Commission Meeting and at the May 18, 2021 City Council
meeting.
STRATEGIC PLAN INITIATIVE:
None.
