RECOMMENDATION:
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
The passage of this Ordinance would not
immediately impact the costs of Council salaries.
The adoption of this Ordinance would result in an
increase of $19_14 per month for each
Councilmember subsequent to the November 1992
election.
DESCRIPTION: This Ordinance has been prepared in accordance with
Section 2.08.020 of the Dublin Municipal Code, which establishes a salary
of $300 per month for City Councilmembers in cities with up to 35,000
population, pursuant to Government Code Section 36516. Section 36516(c)
allows in increase in Councilmember salaries, not to exceed 5% for each
calendar year.
This Ordinance would provide for a 5% increase for calendar year 1991.
However, incumbent COuncilmembers would not be eligible to receive the
increase until after the November, 1992 election.
The City Council's present monthly salary is $382.88.
This Ordinance was introduced at the City Council meeting of April 22,
1991.
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, waive the
reading and ADOPT the Ordinance.

ordinance No. 6-82 established salaries for members of the
Council, as amended by Ordinances No. 22-85, 8-87, 4-88, 3-89 and
1-90. The purpose of this Ordinance is to modify salaries for members
of the City Council in accordance with Dublin Municipal Code section
2.08.020, Subsection A.
section 2: AMENDMENT
Section 2.08.020, Subsection A, is hereby amended by adding the
following language: "The said $300 shall be increased in an amount
equal to 5% of the 1990 salary for calendar year 1991."
Section 3:
No councilmember shall be eligible to receive the increase
provided herein until one or more Councilmember begins a new term of
office.
section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE AND POSTING OF ORDINANCE
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage. The city Clerk of the city of
Dublin shall cause this Ordinance to be posted in at least three (3)
public places in the city of Dublin in accordance with section 36933
of the Government Code of the State of California.
