The Dublin High School Service group called S.O.S. (Society of Scholars) will help serve the breakfast. George McHugh proposed conducting a Strategic Planning Session in the near future to prepare for the new Senior Center. He gave an overview about introducing strategic planning to the Advisory Committee. Although he isn’t prepared to begin the process next month, Mr. McHugh explained this is a process that would take commitment of six months to one-year. He is currently searching the Internet to select a model that the Advisory Committee could use. In conducting an internal analysis, George suggested including the following components: review the programs offered from the past 3 to 5 years, the budget, and levels of participation, etc. The demographics of the community and census would be used to depict the community that we are serving. The Committee could develop a questionnaire and conduct surveys to understand how the community thinks, survey similar agencies in the area (i.e., our competitors), seek what are the needs, and identify the underserved. Finally, Mr. McHugh suggested that a task force be formed of people who have not been involved in the Dublin Senior Center in the past five years. They would be valuable in sharing and presenting new ideas. Rich Guarienti proposed conducting a Memorial Walk at Martin Canyon Creek on Wednesday, September 11, 2002. This day marks the Trail Trekker’s first anniversary. Adjournment: 10:45 A.M. by Burr Cain and George McHugh Respectfully submitted, Anna Hudson Recreation Coordinator
