L.LF.E. Event Evaluation
Hudson provided the Committee with an overview of the event. She requested input from the Committee
Members about specific areas of the event and if the Committee felt the goals of the event were
accomplished.
• Registration - Registration went smoothly and the number of attendees started to drop off by 1:00 p.m.
The outdoor location worked well but tables should be relocated to allow for better handicap access.
• Host and Hostess - The room host/hostess positions were useful and the vendors appreciated the hosts.
• Information and Resources Fair - CM Edge felt the Fair went very well. CM Bonetti commented that
vendor comments were very positive and indicated they would like to return again. Comments were
made that some vendors felt "lost' when they arrived. Hudson noted that many of the vendors did not
attend the April 19th informational/planning meeting. Additionally, many of the vendor
representatives were assigned to work the event at the last minute and may not have received the
confirmation information from their organization.
• Workshops - CM Wood stated the workshops were well attended. She recommended the search for a
keynote speaker start earlier next year.
• Food - The Committee was impressed that the food was served hot and the vendors appreciated the
meal.
• Door Prizes - CM Baron felt that overall the door prizes were well received. He recommended a
minimum three to four month lead time to solicit prizes, noting that most businesses he contacted need
more time to respond to requests for donations. He also suggested checking with the City to see if
there is a database of businesses that make donations to the City and utilize that list.
• Evaluations —Hudson noted that 20 vendor evaluations and 54 participant evaluations were received.
The vendors had noted they felt attendance was low. CM Wood felt the evaluations were too
complicated and recommended simplified, easy to read, evaluations for next year.
The Committee discussed the event goals and Hudson stated the event did reach new people and
additionally a complete vendor list was included in the June newsletter that reaches over 800 plus
individuals. The Committee also discussed changing the date of event next year so as not to

compete/conflict with other area senior center events; possibly combining the Senior Center's event with
another city or agency event and to utilize the City's event planner.
CM Baron suggested the Committee call a special meeting to conduct a detailed critique of the event.
CM Baron made a motion for the Committee to have a special meeting to critique the L.I.F.E. event on
June 27, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Senior Center. CM Bonetti seconded the motion and the Committee
concurred.

2007 Winter Quarterly Report
Hudson presented the Committee with the 2007 Winter Quarterly Report. She stated that overall the
Senior Center has experienced growth. She noted the trips program and the Shamrock Cafe are popular
and that the Cafe continues to draw newcomers. The Center continues to work cooperatively with Las
Positas Community College Quest Program, Amador Valley Adult School and the Dublin Adult School.
New programs such as DancEscape, beginner bridge, Laughter Yoga, and Spanish were added during the
winter quarter.
CM Wood asked how the attendance numbers were compiled. Hudson indicated that the numbers are
manually tabulated from daily sign in sheets for each activity and reflect the actual number of participants
attending each activity.
CM Wood asked why the numbers are not generated through the Class computer program. Hudson
indicated she did not know if Class could generate an accurate attendance report.
CM Wood motioned to accept the report and CM Bonetti seconded the motion and the Committee
unanimously approved.
Other Business
Chairperson Edge announced the resignation of CM McCuen.
CM Wood requested a report to the Committee on how the Senior Center is being used after hours.
